San Andreas

 PG-13
Starring: Dwayne (The Rock) Johnson, Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Paul Giamatti, Ion Gruffudd, Hugo Johnstone-Burt and Art Parkinson

This movie is based on the prediction and aftermath of a gigantic earthquake along the infamous San Andreas Fault-line in California.
It begins with a massive earthquake that takes place at Hoover Dam in Nevada. Then it branches out to Los Angeles and up the fault-line to Central California and eventually San Francisco.
This is another very dramatic edge of your seat thrill ride that will hold your interest.
It stars Dwayne Johnson as Ray, a Los Angeles Firefighter and all around super hero. His wife Emma (Carla Gugino) has just decided to divorce him for a very wealthy and infamous man Daniel (Ioan Gruffudd) and his daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario) is leaving for College.
They all find themselves in the epicenter of a catastrophic situation with no easy way out!
The daughter Blake has left with the mothers boyfriend  Daniel on his private Jet to San Francisco when the earthquake occurs. Ray takes off and leaves in the Los Angeles Fire Department helicopter to save his wife off of a crumbling skyscraper in L.A. Shortly after, he then gets the news that his daughter is trapped in San Francisco fighting for her survival and the story goes from there.
I actually had a good time at this movie because they screened it for the press in the D-BOX theater. So, we not only watched the movie we actually rode the movie. It was very intense and exciting! Living here in Utah we are always warned about "not if... but when" the Wasatch Fault will decide to raise its ugly head and take us on the ride of our lives, that just seemed to increase the drama of this movie!
If you just want to go to a dramatic and exciting popcorn movie than this one is for you. The Special effects were pretty incredible, it was quite realistic and thought-provoking.
Parents be advised: This is rated PG-13,  it was a very intense and realistic looking movie. I think it might be quite upsetting and intimidating to children under the age of twelve. They also had the F-bomb dropped once.
I am giving "San Andreas" two and a half bags of popcorn.
